The Halloween Parade, on October 31st (10:15am), is coming up soon and we can’t wait for all the fun!
Beginning at 10:15am, the children will go on the Halloween Parade around the school, look at all the décor and receive candy as they “Trick or Treat”.
We ask that all children bring a big bag of candy to share, and their own pumpkin to decorate on or before Friday the 25th of October. The teachers and staff will then sort the candy into buckets and set them up for distribution to all the children on Halloween. All contributed candy will be handed out to the children on that day.
We will need parent volunteers to help with decorations (beginning at 8:00am), passing out candy (10:15am-10:45am), and clean-up (10:45am-12:00pm). If you can help, please sign up near the front office. Parent involvement is key for successful events, so please do volunteer if you are able. If you are a parent volunteer coming in at 8:00am, please use MSH staff parking.
Parents attending the Halloween event (not parent volunteers) should plan on arriving after 9:45am and park in the adjoining parking lot, in order to avoid creating extra traffic congestion. Please do not park blocking the driveways.
Please dress all children in their Halloween costumes when you drop them off in school (at their usual times), and bring an extra set of clothes for them to change into after the parade (extra clothes should be placed in their cubbies).
All the candy will remain in the children’s bags until parents pick them up.
Parents are encouraged to participate in any way they can, including wearing their own costumes to the event!
